Still getting this all figured out. It looked tacky the first time so I deleted it all and started it again! Haha. Hope you like it! Well our life is still crazy and hectic with basketball. Mikayla is having a great season so far. Her first big tournament is coming up next week. Kelsy and Kendra, being on the same team now, have a big game tomorrow against a...very aggressive team from the middle of nowhere... but we're ready! If we win, we will host regionals! Last night, we had a game against Fayetteville. The Crawford sisters dominated! Kelsy had 10 points, 3 steals, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds. Kendra had 8 points, 2 steals, 1 assist, and 5 rebounds. We even got our names in the Anniston Star! (Our local newspaper) Here it is:
Donoho 69, Fayetteville 34 — Home-standing Donoho pressed its way to a 69-34 win over the Fayetteville Wolves in the late game of the Class 1A, Area 8 semifinals.
The Falcons (19-5) host Talladega County Central in the Area 8 championship game Saturday at 5 p.m. The finalists split two regular season games, each winning at home.
Donoho led 19-12 after one quarter, then held Fayetteville to four points in the second quarter. Freshman Christine Ankrom, up from the junior high team, scored with 2 seconds left in the second quarter to give Donoho a 34-16 led at intermission.
Senior Frances Barber ended with a game-high 13 points, including nine in the first quarter, to lead the Falcons. Jherica May scored 12 points, with 10 in the first half. Cameron McMillan finished with 11 points and Kelsy Crawford scored 10.
Fayetteville's leading scorer was Samara Nix with 10 points. Shay Huntley and Shelby King had nine points each for the Wolves (9-12).
All 11 Donoho players, including four from the junior high team, scored. Seventh-grader Kendra Crawford led the recent varsity additions with eight points.
Kelsy Crawford added six assists and May had six steals. McMillan grabbed nine rebounds and had five steals. Barber, Adele Fink and Kendra Crawford had five boards each.
Well, our life right now is pretty much basketball, so that's all I have to write about for now. We'll keep you updated! Love you all!
